Taylor Swift has proved time and time again that she’s the friendliest person in pop, but it’s not just fellow musos that buddy up to the 1989 megastar: Hollywood adores Swift, and one of her besties in that circuit is none other than Gwen Stacy (RIP) herself, Emma Stone.
In a new chat with Vanity Fair, Stone raved about her time at the opening date of Swift’s ongoing Eras tour (Australian dates for which are rumoured to be landing soon), which went down on Friday March 17 at the State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
“The concert was pretty amazing,” she said. “I was lucky ’cause we’ve been friends for a really long time. I’ve known her since we were 17 and 18, so she hooked me up, which was very nice ’cause I know those tickets are impossible to get. She’s a wonderful friend. She blows my mind. I mean, the amount of sheer stamina to do three and a half hours and perform 44 songs and to maintain the extreme energy of the audience – I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Stone was quick to note, however, that mutual fans of hers and Swift’s shouldn’t expect them to collaborate any time soon. Asked if she’d ever be down to join Swift for a duet, Stone replied, “Oh, God, hell no! I can’t sing, like, for a massive stadium. Let’s not even go down that road. She has insane talent—I could never do what she does."
Stone can sing, though – after starring opposite Ryan Gosling in 2016’s La La Land, she earned a suite of prestigious awards for both her acting and singing efforts.

Meanwhile, Swift is currently on the Eras tour in support of her chart-topping 10th album, Midnights. Thus far during the run, she’s fuelled rumours that she was dating The 1975’s Matty Healy (which seem to have culminated in their break-up this week) and revealed that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will be released on July 7.
Earlier this week, Swift unveiled the full tracklisting for Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), sporting guest spots from Fall Out Boy and Paramore’s Hayley Williams. The news came shortly after Swift was named the second richest woman in music, with a net worth of $740 million.
