Taylor's Version of Speak Now Date Revealed At Swift Show

The news was broken on a big screen during Taylor Swift's Nashville stop of her Eras tour that the album would be hitting on July 7. 

"If you can direct your attention to that screen back there", Swift proclaimed as the date was revealed. Preorders immediately went live in her US store including a marbled violet triple vinyl, CD, digital and double cassette. It is expected her Australian merch store will follow suit soon. 

In an Instagram post, Swift revealed that the album would contain six previously unreleased tracks. It also includes collectible album sleeves and never-before-seen photos. The exact track listing is yet to be revealed.

"I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing … and living to speak about it."

Speak Now contains Swift's top ten Australian hit Mine as well as the Gold-selling Mean and Enchanted and fan favourite Back To December. 

The 'Taylor's Version' project to re-record all of her Big Machine Records material began in 2021 after the label was sold to Scooter Braun in 2019, with Taylor making her displeasure known and vowing to create the new versions of her hits. 

Fearless (Taylor's Version) and Red (Taylor's Version) were both chart-toppers across the world, with both becoming Australian gold records. It is expected that her self-titled album along with 1989 and Reputation will also be re-recorded over time.
