More Delta Goodrem More Delta Goodrem

It's been an incredible week for Australian artists on the ARIA Albums Chart with seven of the Top 20 places going to local acts.

Delta Goodrem has claimed her fifth-ever #1 album with Bridge Over Troubled Dreams. This is a record-tying achievement for Goodrem who now as as many #1 albums as Kasey Chambers, placing them both just behind Kylie Minogue as the Australian female solo artist with the most #1 albums. Minogue claimed her seventh #1 album last year with Disco

"A huge congratulations to Delta Goodrem on reaching #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Bridge Over Troubled Dreams," said ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd.

"Her fifth #1 album is a testament to her enduring appeal to fans nearly two decades on from her record-breaking debut, Innocent Eyes.”

Goodrem last claimed the #1 back in 2016 with her album Wings Of The Wild. Goodrem's first three albums, 2003's Innocent Eyes, 2004's Mistaken Identity and 2007's Delta, all landed in the top spot.

Innocent Eyes is a record-holder too, as the longest running Australian album in the #1 position on the ARIA Albums Chart at 29 weeks. Only international artists Dire Straits and Adele have had longer runs in the position with 1985's Brothers In Arms at 34 weeks and 2011's 21 at 32 weeks respectively.
