City Of Yarra's Leaps And Bounds Festival Announces 2025 Program

As winter takes hold across Naarm/Melbourne, the City Of Yarra is looking to warm up the venues, announcing the details of its annual Leaps And Bounds music festival.

Presented by the City Of Yarra and supported by PBS, the annual winter festival sees the pubs and clubs of Melbourne transformed into a veritable feast for music lovers of all sensibilities.

As always, there’s something for everyone on offer, with this year featuring the likes of the legendary Punters Club hosting Kennel District, which is an I Oh You and Calibre-hosted event that heads over Brunswick Street into The Evelyn Hotel as well.

First Nations country icon Roger Knox will take over Fitzroy’s Standard Hotel, while Rocket Science will team up with Hot Blood for a special show at The Gem, and Tracey Miller Band will head to The Corner Hotel for an afternoon of jazz classics and gospel music for our older community members and those with disabilities.

The Grace Darling will team up with Scorched Axis to present a a mesmerising mix of outsider electronics and ambient soundscapes, Runner Up Rooftop Bar will see a chess tournament soundtracked by DJs dubbed Chesstivus, and The Workers Club will launch Queer Shift, featuring trans and gender diverse DJs.

Elsewhere, the Bodriggy Brew Pub will feature four days and nights of First Nations programming thanks to artists such as Candice Lorrae,  Poli-Pearl, WVCHWY, Kanisha, Liv And The Dreams Art, Fosters and Tjum Tjumba Collective.

Meanwhile, The Tote will bring out Constant Mongrel, J. McFarlane’s Reality Guest and more for its Lazy Sunday, and PBS will take over The Railway Hotel for its live broadcast of Radio City and Swinging Doors.

“At a time when the industry is doing it tough, we’re proud to back our live music venues, artists and workers through a community-curated festival that champions Yarra’s live music scene,” Mayor Stephen Jolly said in a statement.

“There are more than 20 venues participating this year, boosting our local economy and reinvigorating our city over the winter months.”
