More Chet Faker More Chet Faker

It's a fitting ARIA Charts result on Record Store Day this week, with records released on Australian independent labels topping both the albums and singles chart.

As predicted midweek, Melbourne neo-soul star Chet Faker has debuted at number one with his record Built On Glass, released on Future Classic with distribution through Warner. Over in the Singles Chart Brisbane's Sheppard, who are signed to Chugg Music with distro from MGM, hold number one for a second week with Geronimo.

In the albums chart five of the top six are local artists, with Russell Morris debuting at four with Van Diemen's Land. The iconic Australian musician finally got his first ever top ten last year with the under-the-radar Sharkmouth album peaking at six and so this debut gives him his first ever top five.

INXS's The Very Best is knocked to two, The Voice's Harrison Craig debuts at five with L.O.V.E and Dan Sultan's Blackbird holds on to sixth in its second week. The only non-Aussie in the mix is the soundtrack to Frozen, which remains at three.
