“Concerts in cul-de-sacs, symphonies for your suburb."
Brisbane Festival’s 2020 program will see some of the country’s best artists take over the suburbs for what’s being described as “the biggest music extravaganza” in the city’s history.
The huge festival will return to Brisbane from 4-26 September, and with it comes Street Serenades, an element of this year’s program that will see local legends such as Busby Marou, Eliza & The Delusionals, Sahara Beck, Jaguar Jonze and more performing across 190 suburbs.
The massive event will take place over the festival’s three-week run, with pop-up concerts in various neighbourhoods.
“Concerts in cul-de-sacs, symphonies for your suburb, and performances in your favourite park will arrive on bespoke stages on wheels, bringing music to the streets and reaching every suburb in Brisbane,” reads the Street Serenades description.

The 2020 program also features Cowboy, an interactive, solo contemporary dance work with music from Regurgitator’s Ben Ely, the world premiere of Katie Noonan’s The Sweetest Taboo, and headline shows from Washington, Custard and more – and that only scratches the surface.
"Please enjoy our special, mostly-free springtime celebration made for these unusual times,” Brisbane Festival Artistic Director Louise Bezzina said.
“I invite you to ‘do as the Romans do’ and sing and dance in the streets of Brisbane. It’s time to have some fun.”
