Aussie music festival Blues On Broadbeach has announced it will take its 2020 event online.

Following the free Gold Coast event's cancellation last month in response to the COVID outbreak, organisers have confirmed punters will still get their music festival fix with Bandwidth, taking place on Facebook Live from 7pm AEST on Friday 15 May.

Confirmed to perform on the night includes Australian rock legend Tommy Emmanuel, The Black Sorrows, Tami Neilsen, The Soul Movers, The Lachy Doley Group, The Turner Brown Band, Karise Eden and Karen Lee Andrews.

“The idea that Blues on Broadbeach would not make its annual appearance on the Gold Coast in 2020 was a shock to us all,” Blues On Broadbeach director Mark Duckworth said.

“As we informed the artists and fans, the idea that we could band together to do something virtual immediately followed.

“Bandwidth is an online meeting point for our festival tribe, a celebration of our event and a snapshot of musicians working from home around the globe. It’s a non-traditional concert experience that we can provide for our audience to enjoy.
