Banksy Exhibition (Fever)
Australia is in for a massive treat as the works of elusive street artist Banksy take centre stage with the largest-ever exhibition celebrating his work.
The highly-anticipated The Art of Banksy: Without Limits is currently making its way through the country, featuring over 150 of Banksy's iconic pieces, from murals and sculptures to innovative installations.
Banksy, whose identity remains a well-guarded secret, has gained worldwide fame for his thought-provoking and politically charged street art. This exhibition showcases his incredible body of work and provides a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts to experience the creations up close.
The exhibition includes a variety of pieces, such as murals, sculptures, photographs, mapping shows (a technique where images or animations are projected onto irregularly shaped surfaces), and immersive installations.
Visitors can even step into an "infinity room," a mesmerising experience that plays with the perception of space and dimension.
One of the highlights of the exhibition is a simulation of 'Dismaland Bemusement Park,' a dark and twisted theme park created by Banksy in 2015. This intriguing attraction gives visitors a glimpse into the artist's satirical and, at times, controversial worldview.
The Art of Banksy: Without Limits will feature some of Banksy's most famous works, including Flower Thrower, Rude Copper, and the iconic Girl with Balloon.
However, the exhibition also aims to shed light on lesser-known pieces, bringing Banksy's recent Ukraine murals into the spotlight.
Additionally, the exhibit pays homage to the MV Louise Michel, a high-speed boat funded by Banksy that operates in the Mediterranean Sea to assist refugees.
The show made its debut in Brisbane in May, and is currently taking Adelaide by storm — but the excitement doesn't end there, as Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth are next in line to host the epic event.
While specific dates and venues for the other cities have yet to be announced, art enthusiasts can already secure their spot at the exhibition by joining the ticket waitlist for the Sydney leg — which will take place in Jan 2024 — here.
The Melbourne leg — listed to be held in June next year — has also opened their waitlist.
With the huge popularity of Banksy's art, tickets are expected to sell out quickly, so get in quick.
