Queensland favourites Ball Park Music are making the best of a bad situation, today revealing they’ll be dropping their new album early as they combat a “short delay” on the arrival of vinyl stocks.

Originally slated to arrive on June 3, the band’s seventh studio album, Weirder & Weirder, will now release via streaming services, CD and digital download on May 27, one week before its supporting tour kicks off.

The “unforeseen glitch” has emerged due to ongoing supply issues relating to the war in Ukraine, with quality vinyl pressings often coming from Europe.

“We spent more than a year pouring our heart and soul into this record and we are beyond excited for everyone to hear it,” frontman Sam Cromack said.

“After more than two years of our industry suffering non-stop setbacks, we’ve decided to give this situation the middle finger and run in the other direction. To honour all our beautiful listeners, we have made the decision to pull the release of Weirder & Weirder forward.

“Our highest priority is getting this new record to our fans and hitting the road in June to celebrate the only thing that has ever mattered - the music.”

It’s expected that the vinyl version of Weirder & Weirder will arrive in early July, and to reward fans for their patience, Ball Park Music are putting anyone who pre-ordered the vinyl in the draw to win a signed test pressing (which the band received about a month ago).

Last week Ball Park Music dropped the third single from the new album, Manny, which you can check out below.
