Parkway DriveParkway Drive shared a lovely moment with a fan named Katie, who is suffering from a terminal illness and can no longer make it to the inaugural Hellbound Cruise.
“During the Killing Horizons Tour, we received hundreds of messages from fans sharing Katie’s story with us,” the Byron Bay metal icons captioned a post on social media about their experience meeting her.
They continued, “Unfortunately, due to her terminal illness, Katie is no longer able to travel by air or boat and won’t be able to attend the Hellbound cruise.
“So, with a little help from her family, the band decided to bring a piece of the show to Katie and surprise her!”
In a video posted to Instagram, the members of Parkway Drive greet and hug Katie – who’s blindfolded and taken into a room to meet the band.
She tells them about the impact their music has had on her life, saying it’s done more for her than any therapist could. Frontman Winston McCall described that as the highest compliment a musician could receive.
Then, each band member drew their signatures underneath Katie’s impressive Parkway Drive tattoo on her arm, which she later got tattooed beneath the original piece.
While discussing her predicament with the band, guitarist Luke Kilpatrick said they could sell her Hellbound Cruise pass to someone in their fan club, since she can no longer attend.
Plus, since she can no longer make it to that show, they promised to give her a sneak peek – the band invited Katie to watch their rehearsal ahead of the performance.

Parkway Drive headline the inaugural Hellbound Cruise, Australia’s first-ever metal cruise, next month. It sets sail from Sydney’s Darling Harbour on Thursday, 22 October, and returns on Monday, 26 October.
The band will be joined by Polaris, The Butterfly Effect, Make Them Suffer, Sunk Loto, Hands Like Houses, Ocean Sleeper, and many other Aussie heavy acts.
Hellbound takes place just two months after Parkway Drive travelled across the country to celebrate two of their most loved albums, 2005’s Killing with a Smile and 2007’s Horizons, playing both albums in their entirety as well as a bunch of fan favourites.
For the tour, they took over intimate venues such as Perth’s Metro City and Melbourne’s Forum – a stark contrast to their 2024 arena run across Australia.
