Power Pick 07/09/26: Sonny Fodera & Becky Hill - 'Say Something'

The Music chooses one song every week as its Power Pick, shining a light on ONE Aussie song that we think has the potential to be the next big Australian chart hit.

Australian house DJ and producer Sonny Fodera, based in London, is back with another ultra-catchy new single, Say Something starring British singer-songwriter Becky Hill.

Released in late August, the track follows the pair’s 2024 collaboration, Never Be Alone. While Say Something debuted at #73 on the UK Singles Chart, it debuted at #18 on the ARIA Australian Artist Dance Singles chart and #21 on the RMNZ New Zealand Hot Singles chart.

Say Something arrives during a monumental period for the Aussie DJ, who’s on track to sell 75,000 tickets on his 2027 arena tour across the UK. Fodera has already sold out shows in Glasgow and Manchester, with London and Newcastle down to final tickets.

Containing fascinating grooves, standout vocals and an undeniable summer feel, Say Something unites Fodera and Hill for a dancefloor-ready anthem. The single is about communication – or, miscommunication – between a couple, encouraging the other party to just “Say Something.”

CHART UPDATE

The Radio Monitor Hot 100 looks a bit different at the top end of the chart. After Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran led the first two spots last week, this week, it’s Olivia Rodrigo at #1 with stupid song, followed by Australia’s G Flip at #2 with their viral hit, Bed On Fire.

Taylor Swift’s I Knew It I Knew You has dropped to #3, while Bruno Mars has picked up two positions to #4 with On My Soul – his in-demand Australian tour likely influencing the increase in plays and popularity.

Elsewhere, the top ten includes some ups and downs – Olivia Rodrigo has picked up three positions to land at #5 with drop dead, Ariana Grande has dropped a spot to #6 with hate that i made you love me, Alex Warren has dropped from #2 to #8 with FEVER DREAM, and sombr rounds out the top ten with Homewrecker, up a spot.

Josh Fawaz’s Like A Prayer has moved down from #7 to #12, while Zara Larsson’s Midnight Sun and Stella Lefty’s Boston have moved up from #18 to #14 and #21 to #15, respectively.

Other Sonny Fodera tracks, Let Me Be In Your Arms with Libianca, is at #18 on the chart, while Say Something debuted at #29, and Think About Us with D.O.D & Poppy Baskcomb is at #37, down from #25.

Besides G Flip, Sonny Fodera and Josh Fawaz, other Aussies with movements on the Hot 100 include Tame Impala’s Loser moving to #23 (up from #27), Dracula staying at #33, Ninajirachi & Porter Robinson’s WannaCry at #36 (down from #29), and artists like Troye Sivan, Jem Cassar-Daley, and Genesis Owusu in the lower end of the top 50.

On the ARIA Singles Chart, Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas holds strong at #1 for another week, while Tame Impala’s Loser remains the sole Aussie song in the top 10, staying at #8 for the second week. Their track Dracula has fallen two positions from #18 to #20.
