After making waves with his AFL Grand Final performance over the weekend, which included playing the yidaki during Snoop Dogg’s headline set, Baker Boy has announced his highly anticipated DJANDJAY tour.
Baker Boy is touring in support of his forthcoming album, DJANDJAY, in April and May 2026. The tour begins at Newcastle’s King Street Bandroom on Thursday, 9 April, and continues with dates in Sydney, Brisbane, Coolangatta, Barwon Heads, Melbourne, Darwin, and concludes in Alice Springs on Saturday, 2 May.
In addition to his headline tour dates, Baker Boy will appear at Perth Festival on Saturday, 21 February, and WOMADelaide on Sunday, 8 March.
DJANDJAY will be released on Friday, 10 October. Fans who pre-order the new album from Baker Boy’s official store before Wednesday, 1 October, at 9 am AEST will receive an exclusive ticket pre-sale link ahead of the pre-sale, which begins on Thursday, 2 October, at 11 am local time. Teasing the tour, Baker Boy wrote on social media, “new album. new show. new energy. you mob ain’t ready for what’s about to go down.”
Earlier this month, Baker Boy released the punk-fuelled track, THICK SKIN, which marks one of the most powerful songs of his career.
THICK SKIN is a celebration of Blak lives, culture, and artistry, even in the darkest times. The single saw Baker Boy team up with a powerhouse Blak choir that includes Thelma Plum, Emma Donovan, Kee’ahn, and Jada Weazel.
Born from the pain and frustration after the unsuccessful 2023 Indigenous Voice Referendum and ongoing attacks on First Nations people, Baker Boy channels his anger and converts it into pride.
Earlier this year, Baker Boy said of the new album, which is named after his late grandmother: “DJANDJAY feels like a new space for me — more mature, more elevated. This is my strongest, most powerful work yet.”
He continued, “DJANDJAY is about truth. It’s about strength and defiance. I put my whole self into this album — and it feels like all of me is in there.
