The next two SILO gigs have been announced - and they’ve both got a stellar lineup. SILO shows are bi-monthly live music events at The Brightside, curated by GRAIN, and are basically mini-festivals, celebrating Aussie talent.

The first SILO gig of 2025, set on Valentine’s Day (AKA February 14), will be headlined by Brisbane’s own Asha Jefferies, hot off the release of her debut album, Ego Ride. She’ll be joined by Melbourne’s Juice Webster and Sydney’s EGOISM. To top it all off, there will also be performances from Adelaide’s Swampmeet and local rockers Strayfold - and, of course, a cameo from GRAIN’s DJs.

The next show, slated for April 12, has two whopping headliners: Melbourne’s Gut Health and fellow Victorians Delivery. In addition to them, punters will also be delighted with performances from The Empty Threats from Adelaide, Melbourne’s Sleepazoid, and Brissy-based Special Features.

Tickets for both shows are on sale now, via Oztix, and are only priced at $26.

SILO shows have been running for years - since 2018, in fact - and are known for their refined taste, hosting a range of acts who have gone on to become household names. Genesis Owusu, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, and Royel Otis are examples, just to name a few. Other notable acts include Teenage Joans, Bad//Dreems, STUMPS, Phantastic Ferniture, sweater curse, Party Dozen, RVG, Sunscreen, First Beige, Major Leagues, RAAVE TAPES and many, many more.

As such, any fans of Aussie music are encouraged to come to these shows and suss out “the next big thing”.

Jefferies is already making a name for herself, having been nominated for The Triffid’s 2024 QLD Album of the Year for her debut album, Ego Ride - which she worked on with Brisbane legends, Ball Park Music.

Gut Health are also ones to watch, with their debut album, Stiletto, making it onto The Music’s Best Australian Albums Of 2024 list, where Tyler Jenke wrote, “It’s rare to release a debut album that is so impressive and fully formed.”

And Delivery should not be overlooked either, becoming a force to be reckoned with on their second album, Force Majeure, which was called “a statement of their post-punk-inspired sound, their dedication to musical evolution, and making a record that is as fun to play as it is to listen to.”
