Our Kylie and the ascendent 5 Seconds Of Summer will both make an appearance
It’s easy to scoff at corporately sponsored music events, but global tech juggernaut Apple has shown that it has its conglomerate finger remarkably on the pulse with the announcement of the eighth annual iTunes Festival in London this September.
Featuring an impressive roster of international acts including Pharrell Williams, Maroon 5, Beck, Sam Smith, Blondie, Kylie Minogue, David Guetta, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Calvin Harris, Chrissie Hynde and several more A-list bands and artists, the iTunes festival is a month-long celebration that boasts more than 60 acts scheduled to perform at legendary venue the Roundhouse.
If you’re thinking, “well, that’s great and all, but we’re in Australia, moron,” then firstly, there’s no need to get mean about it, but secondly, you’ll be able to stream performances from the festival live or on-demand via iOS devices including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, as well as through iTunes on desktop computers and laptops, or in supreme luxury on their living-room screens with Apple TV.
“The iTunes Festival in London is back with another stunning line-up of world class performers and tremendous new acts,” Apple VP of internet software and services Eddy Cue said in a statement.

“These live shows capture the heart and soul of iTunes and we love bringing them to our customers in the Roundhouse, as well as to the millions of people watching all over the world for free.”
The inaugural iTunes Festival was held at London’s Institute for Contemporary Arts back in 2007, and since that time more than 430 artists have taken to the festival’s stage, to the delight of more than 430,000 fans (as well as projected millions online), including acts such as Adele, Coldplay, Elton John, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Muse, Sir Paul McCartney and several others.
