It was the Stones vs Sticky Fingers

As predicted in mid-week chart reports, it was a three-way local act tussle for the top spot in this week's ARIA Albums Chart.

But it was rebooted folk siblings Angus & Julia Stone who got the sales, and their self-titled album debuted at number one. It is the duo's third studio album and their second to reach number one — they were last at the top with Down The Way in March 2010.

Nabbing the number two spot was Sydney hip hop collective/supergroup One Day — featuring members of Horrorshow, Spit Syndicate, Jackie Onassis and Joyride — Mainline is their debut album.

In at three it's Sydney rock outfit Sticky Fingers. Land Of Pleasure is their second album and their highest charter to date - last year's Caress Your Soul peaked at 13.

Other debuts this week include: the Guardians Of The Galaxy soundtrack, Awesome Mix Volume 1, featuring retro cuts from The Runaways and David Bowie (in at seven); the 2014 winner of The Voice Anja Nissen's self-titled set (11); JJ Cale tribute album The Breeze, by Eric Clapton & Friends (17); Spoon's They Want My Soul (43); The Choir Of King's College Cambridge's I Was Glad: The Immortal Sound (50).

In the Singles Chart, Brit Paloma Faith's run at number one with Only Love Can Hurt Like This came to an end as US singer Meghan Trainor took over the spot with All About That Bass.

Former Aus Idoller Anthony Callea has found success in the Music DVDs Chart, his Ladies And Gentlemen: The Songs Of George Michael collection debuting at number one there.

In the Club Chart, Ember becomes the fourth Australian to top the chart in 2014 as the Sydney producer's Blur knocks Nicky Night Time from number one — his Everybody Together held the spot for five weeks.
