Amy Taylor has shared a heartwarming reaction to the news that Amyl And The Sniffers will open for AC/DC on their upcoming Australian tour.
This morning (23 June), the U Should Not Be Doing That singer took to her Instagram Stories and wrote, “AC/DC! The best rock and roll band in the world. I just can’t believe it I am so excited. Never ever ever would have dreamed this. Highlight of my literal life like wow can you believe it.”
Reflecting on Amyl And The Sniffers’ non-stop covers of Highway To Hell a few years ago, she continued, “5 years ago we covered the same 3 AC/DC songs on the back of a truck up the canning highway for 2 hours straight. A bands music that’s been weaved thru my wholeeeeee life.”
After sharing a clip of said footage from five years ago, Taylor concluded, “Mainly just excited to see them play multiple times.”
On the band’s profile, Amyl And The Sniffers described AC/DC as the “best band in the world.” Meanwhile, their Instagram Stories showed guitarist Declan Mehrtens sporting an AC/DC tattoo.

Amyl And The Sniffers will support AC/DC on their first Australian tour in a decade. The shows will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Wednesday, 12 November, Sydney’s Accor Stadium on Friday, 21 November, the bp Adelaide Grand Final on Sunday, 30 November, Perth’s Optus Stadium on Thursday, 4 December, and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Sunday, 14 December.

Amyl And The Sniffers’ return to Australia comes after some buzzworthy performances in the US, including their appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last month, where Taylor represented Australian culture by rocking an iconic bikini top made of thongs.
In January and February, Amyl And The Sniffers embarked on a huge headline run across Australia. Since then, they received multiple nominations for this year’s AIR Awards and took home the prestigious Song of the Year award at the APRA Awards for U Should Not Be Doing That.
