The Irish-Australian troubadour hits the road for a two-month stint in transit from next month
Respected Irish-Australian singer-songwriter Áine Tyrrell has announced a two-month sojourn along the east coast and Tasmania, embarking on another road trip in her beloved 1966 Bedford bus for the 'Dream A New Dream' Tour.
The impending jaunt, which will see Tyrrell joined on-stage by her band, The Midnight Tide, encompasses a number of festival and headline appearances, providing ample opportunities in ample settings for audiences to get acquainted with the sublime sounds of the talented troubadour over the next several weeks.
Tyrrell has taken a particularly candid tack on this tour (although honesty has never been a weak point for the lauded musician), saying that she has chosen "to be unapologetically noisy and shine a big bold light that I solemnly swear I will never allow to dim again".
To that end, the upcoming journey — and it will be a journey, in more ways than one — is a chance to open up about her reasons for moving to Australia several years ago, and how, once here, an attempt to save an ailing marriage became another instance of a determined woman (and, in this case, her eldest child) surviving an abuser, leveraging her strength and resolve into getting out, first, and then realising her own dreams.

In fact, she's even written a detailed, heartfelt and frequently harrowing account of her story from the moment she left Ireland to now, and we really recommend that you read it. It's an incredibly moving piece, and makes her achievements in the musical world all the more impressive.
The tour announcement comes alongside the unveiling of new video Blank White Sheet, the audio for which comes from Tyrrell's lauded debut full-length, Queen Of Swords. Inspired by her beloved Nana, the clip was made with the assistance of her fans from around the world, including from locations such as France, Vietnam and the United States.
"From the west coast of Ireland to south-west Victoria, Nana's words ring out true through cloudy days, hailstorms, buildings collapsing around you, and through the sun shining in front of you," Tyrrell said in a statement. "Sometimes we just need a little reminder to dust ourselves off and shine again. A little reminder that it's time to dream a new dream."
Áine Tyrrell will set off for her tour from 11 November, when she gets under way at The Gaelic Club, Sydney; she also has standalone shows lined up at the Gold Coast, in Brisbane (twice; one show is a dual outing with Mel Parsons), Hobart (also two shows) and Melbourne, as well as festival spots at Mullum Music Festival and Woodford Folk Festival before the year's out.
