Following his departure from Hellions last year, singer-songwriter and guitarist Matt Gravolin has revealed new solo project, Agnes Manners.
The debut single from the new endeavour, As Long As You're Mine, marks a change of pace for Gravolin, who told The Music it’s just a taste of what to expect.
“The theatricality that defines Hellions is very much embedded in my musical DNA and is present throughout many of the Agnes Manners songs,” he said, while noting the likes of Elton John, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, Father John Misty, Phoebe Bridgers and The 1975 as inspiration across the new project.
“I adore As Long As You’re Mine but it isn’t representative of the release as a whole, I’m really looking forward to revealing the diversity of the project!”
On his decision to step away from Hellions and explore new territory, Gravolin noted that “it wasn’t something I had taken lightly”.
“I began to develop some anxiety about touring and I didn’t want my reluctance to travel or perform our songs to affect the Hellions schedule - pursuing Agnes Manners made sense, as I can take things at my own pace without hindering Hellions,” he said.

“Those boys are my family and I’m still a contributing songwriter.”
While Gravolin wasn’t “at liberty to reveal any specifics” around any upcoming albums or EPs, he said that fans can “certainly count on a collection of songs being released in the middle of the year”.
