Next year, Australia will get to wade in the nostalgia of one of music history’s most notorious cultural resets, celebrating pioneer Bob Geldof and his long-lasting legacy via Live Aid and its synonymous celeb super-group Band Aid.
The tour aims to allow fans to see both Bob Geldof’s musical chops as frontman for Irish rock group Boomtown Rats, as well as an opportunity for fans to hear the philanthropist’s insights from anti-poverty efforts in Africa, including his work behind 40-strong supergroup Band Aid, and their contribution to Ethiopia’s famine relief in the early 80s.
Geldof was also responsible for the music milestone Live Aid, which managed to attract some of the world’s biggest names, who donated their time to the great cause.
Among Geldof’s own band, Live Aid garnered sets from Adam Ant, Status Quo, Elvis Costello, Sade, U2, Dire Straits, Queen, David Bowie, The Who, and a headlining performance from Band Aid. Live Aid was most recently referenced in the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, which collected 50 wins and 81 nominations during the 2018 award season.

Poised for early 2025, Geldof will visit nine cities across Australia, including all capital cities, as well as Newcastle and the Gold Coast along Australia’s eastern coastline.
The Entertainment Lab CEO Dustin Lockett commented on his anticipation for the tour, "Growing up, we all admired Bob—not just for his music but for his unparalleled impact on the world stage, from rallying a global response to famine in Ethiopia to his enduring efforts in global justice. This tour is more than a musical event; it's a source of inspiration for all."
