Music has always been a HUGE part of Stranger Things, since season 1. Setting the show in the 1980's was a stroke of genius by The Duffer Brothers. The ability to set the scene and year by real-world events and song releases means that it puts the viewer directly into that era and keeps it as real-to-life as sci-fi-horror gets.
