New Music: Four Tet - Parallel Jalebi (Hudson Mohawke Remix)
Download Hudson Mohawke's awesome contribution to LuckyMe’s advent calendar.. The 2013 Four Tet album that this track comes off, Beautiful Rewind, is an all time favourite of mine. Packed with introspective, oddball, tech house-flavored beats, I like how Four Tet favours more experimentation on it a heap more than his other releases. Glasgow native / Kanye West collaborator Hudson Mohawke's taken one of the spacier tracks from that album, Parallel Jalebi, and injected some energy into it, and sharpened its abstract edges. The track's been released for a record label and artist collective from his hometown, Lucky Me, who each year put out a music advent calendar, releasing brand new rarities, alternate versions, and exclusives that span the sound of the LuckyMe family. One each day for free download for every day of December until Christmas - by the end it's a nice 25-track compilation. Video: Flamingo - Drip Away
The next best thing to actual barrels if you ask us.. During last week's Electronic Music Conference we had the pleasure of stumbling across Adelaide trio Flamingo's set during one of the EMC Play nights, and it was a cracker. Their tropical-feeling name is indicative of the music they put out - a very laidback and groovy type of beatsy electronica, and you can get a nice taste of it in the video below, for single Drip Away. The clip itself is the perfect accompaniment, and looks super fun - crafting mega barrels with only a tarpaulin, it is full of froth and summery stoke, only missing a couple of shakas to complete the whole affair: DRIP AWAY TOUR DATES Sat 13 Dec – The Causeway, Perth Fri 19 Dec – Cats @ Rocket Bar, Adelaide Tue 30 Dec – Lost Paradise Festival, Glenworth Valley Follow Flamingo: FACEBOOK

Pilerats 10 Days Of X-Mas #2
Flicks al fresco - Luna Outdoor is open for the summer. WIN a dbl pass!. We're feeling a bit, um, "Christmassy" so we've taken it upon ourselves to launch the inaugural Pilerats' 10 Days Of X-Mas - a different giveaway will be up for grabs each day leading up to December 25.Yes, we're aware it's supposed to be 12 Days of Christmas. But there's a limit to how much we can suck up to people for free stuff ;) Did you know Luna Leederville has an Outdoor Cinema right next to the main cinema? Well, now you know. Take advantage of this useful knowledge and head down there this summer – there’s bean bags (have tested, v. comfortable), tables and chairs (if you prefer to sit café style when you’re at the movies), and full access to the Luna Lounge Bar. Pick a flick, grab a pizza from Siena’s or Little Caesar’s up the road, sprinkle it with popcorn, hold tight to your plastic cup of house white while you negotiate a beanbag, and then just sit back and THRIVE. Here’s some assistance on the flick
