Donovan announced that she’s 22 weeks pregnant on Instagram today (3 October) – an announcement that arrives after the couple revealed they were undergoing IVF earlier this year.
“After extensive research, clinical assessment and absolutely no musical rehearsal… Baby arriving February 2027 👩🏻🐰👩🏾👶🏽✨️,” Donovan wrote, tagging Sharples in her post. Sharples held up ultrasound photos, while Donovan presented a “Cool Bubs Club” onesie.
In addition to announcing that she’s expecting, the Australian Idol winner and beloved singer shared that she’s on the cover of this Saturday’s Sydney Weekend magazine, where she discusses her pregnancy journey.

In April, Donovan shared that the couple had undergone their first embryo transfer, beginning their IVF journey, at a fertility clinic.
“Today @renee.sharples and I did our first embryo transfer,” her Instagram post read.
She added, “I got the 6 am flight back from Sydney to Melbourne and after a massive weekend of amazing shows in NSW it was great to be home into the loving arms of my love and put my legs up…Literally 💃🏾”.
After thanking doctors for their support, she wrote, “Now we wait…What will be will be. Sending all of the love, light and baby dust to all who are on an IVF journey.”
Donovan and Sharples announced their engagement in June 2024.
“21.06.24 on the strawberry moon of the winter solstice the love of my life asked me if I wanted to do this life together forever,” Donovan wrote.
Recalling the life-changing moment, she continued: “The day I met you, home was no longer a place it became a person and yes, you are a gypsy but there's nobody else I would rather attach my wagon to on this beautiful road trip called life. And with that, I said yes!”
