Evergreen Terrace drummer Kyle Mims has amicably left the group, which he joined in 2005.

Betrayed have uploaded a new song onto their myspace page. The song "Above The Influence" is taken from the band's upcoming 7" titled "Suffering".

Californian hardcore punks Trash Talk have posted a stream of their new album Eyes And Nines. Eyes And Nines was produced by Joby Ford of The Bronx and features guest appearances by Greg Hetson (Bad Religion, Circle Jerks) and Matt Caughthran (The Bronx, Mariachi el Bronx). Sludgy, psychedelic rockers Kylesa have posted an update from the studio regarding the progress of their fifth studio album. Kylesa have also given their fans a glimpse into the studio by posting some studio photos that are available to view here. The band writes: “Week one at the Jam Room Studios of Columbia SC. After a week of intense tracking we have basic rhythm tracking completed. Luckily, the casualties have been few and the sessions are going great. We couldn't be happier with the progress thus far. We have been eating, sleeping, and living this music for a while now and the process of recording them really brings it all to a new level for the band. The songs are really starting to take shape, each becoming there own entity. Everyone at the Jam Room has been working extremely hard and accommodating the band at every level to make this record possible. Here are some pictures from this past week. We’ve mentioned it before, but it’s their tenth birthday this year, and it looks like the celebrations are set to go off with a bang. As promised, there are quite a few surprises on the roster of artists announced so far, with organisers paying closer attention to the more indie/alternative-inspired musical tastes of their punters, as well as packing in a whole bunch of more traditionally Parklife-y electro and hip hop acts. There’s a decent selection of local electro acts gracing the Parklife stage, with Cut Copy, Midnight Juggernauts, and the Bag Raiders all jumping aboard, but what’s really exciting is the international acts on the line-up. Parkway Drive have premiered a visually stunning and brutally disturbing masterpiece of a video for their first single, “Sleepwalker,” from their forthcoming album, Deep Blue, instores June 25.Written and co-directed by Winston McCall along with friend of the band Aaron Briggs of Motion Circus, “Sleepwalker” transcends music videos of the past decade with intense, apocalyptic first-person footage of the nightmarish destruction of Brisbane, set to the tumultuous tones of Parkway Drive’s first single from Deep Blue.

Legendary metal band Iron Maiden have revealed details of their upcoming studio album, The Final Frontier. Iron Maiden’s new studio album The Final Frontier will be released Monday 16th August. As a special treat for fans worldwide, the band have also made the song “El Dorado” available as a free download. “El Dorado is a preview of the forthcoming studio album,” explained vocalist Bruce Dickinson. “As we will be including it in the set of our Final Frontier World Tour we thought it would be great to thank all our fans and get them into The Final Frontier mood by giving them this song up front of the tour and album release”. The band recorded The Final Frontier with long-time Maiden producer Kevin “Caveman” Shirley in early 2010 at Compass Point Studios, Nassau.

Melbourne thrashers The Omen are currently recording a new 7 inch entitled "Room 5".The EP is the first to feature new vocalist Craig (Seduction/In Name and Blood) and new guitairist Reece (Stand Defiant).The EP is entitled "Room 5" after the room where the band are recording the EP themselves at Three Phase Rehearsal Studios in Melbourne.

Metal band The Human Abstract are gearing up to record their new album. The band will be entering the studio on July 1 with producer William Putney (Suicide Silence, Four Year Strong) to record their third full-length album for Hopeless Records. "These new songs are among the most difficult THA songs to play, but at the same time are more satisfying. Past songs sometimes felt more like exercises, these feel more well rounded with moments that are really fun to play," guitarist Dean Herrera said. As reported by KYS, The Human Abstract recently appointed Travis Richter (formerly of From First to Last and The Color of Violence) as their new frontman and vocalist and welcomed back original guitarist/songwriter A.J. Minette into the band. The band’s last album was 2008’s Midheaven.
