Post-hardcore group The Word Alive have announced the departure of bass player Nick Urlacher. The band are also accepting auditions for a new permanent bass player.Urlacher released the following statement:"This is hard to start off. What are the right words to say goodbye to a family of friends, family and fans who have changed your life for the last 3 years of your life? A simple goodbye wouldn't suffice. Yet a long drawn out one would be too much. I've decided to leave The Word Alive my friends. This decision doesn't come easy, by any means of the word. The other 5 members have been my road family and home family for what feels like an eternity. We had the best of times and the worst of times, but we were together playing music and touring the country together. We're friends who will always be there for one another no matter the price. This period of my life has changed me in ways that I would have never imagined! I found myself out on that lonely road with them. I will miss all ...

Florida metal, We Are Defiance have recently posted a new track online.  Titled "The Weight of the Sea", the track is featured on the forthcoming full-length album "Trust In Few" set for launch March 15, 2011.   Have a listen here.  

Hip-hop giant, Lupe Fiasco has recently released a new music video to the internet. Supporting his single, 'The Show Goes On' the video features a track from his forthcoming album 'Lasers' due out March 8. Check it out here.

Superstars of the death metal world, Aborted have announced plans to begin pre-production for their forthcoming album in early January 2011.  The Century Media Records giants have offered the following statement towards their plans: "Good news is that we are starting pre-productions for our upcoming record on January 4th. This means we will demo all the songs for the record, make sure everything sounds good and make the necessary adjustments to make sure they are all more lethal than a chainsaw in Mr. Leatherface's hands. We're all very excited about the material thus far and can't wait to get this over with and proceed to the actual recordings later this year. Expect a fall 2011 release through our culprates in mayhem Century Media."

Melbourne punk rock band The Duvtons have just thrown a Christmas present out to the world by dropping their second digital single in two months via itunes. 'The Mushrooms Are Coming' was recorded at Sing Sing studios by Matt Voigt (The Nation Blue, The Living End, Rage Against The Machine, Powderfinger and many more). The mastering process was gracefully completed by US sound guru Tom Baker (Bad Religion, Parkway Drive, Nine Inch Nails, Michael Jackson and more) in Los Angeles.

Celebrating the festive season in true fashion, pop punk legends, New Found Glory have recently posted a new holiday-themed video to the internet.  The band is preparing to embark upon a stream of South-East Asian dates in February 2011 before joining the annual Soundwave Festival in Australia.  Get yourself into the spirit of things and check the video out here. 

Think Fast! Records is extremely proud to announce the signing of European's reigning hardcore kings, No Turning Back. The band just wrapped up recording their new full-length effort, "Take Control" which will see a release on American soil on April 19th. "I've known Martijn (vocals) for many years and have always admired his inability to slow down," comments Think Fast! co-owner Ryan O'Connor. "He doesn't seem to let anything or anyone keep his band from moving on and you have to respect that. We're very much looking forward to working with Martijn and the rest of the guys for the U.S. release of their new album." New Jersey's True Things dropped their debut record "Alone In My Room" a few months ago though Man Overboard's Lost Tape Collective label, and cemented themselves as a band to keep your eye on in 2011. The band's front man James Corbi answered a few questions for us in his spare time.

Florida rockers We The Kings' have hinted at a possible track list for their upcoming third album. Frontman Travis Clark posted via his twitter account "Here's where it starts..." with a picture of a list of song names.
