Joe Benducci, the singer of New Jersey down-tempo mosh-metal band Ender has left on good terms with the band. In a statement that Benducci issued, he said that he has "grown more and more distant from the style of music that we play. To me playing music is more about enjoying what you play and because you love it, not just because this is 'where its at' at that time. There are no hard feelings between any of us, Ender is full of great dudes. I'm going to further my music with a hardcore band and play the music I love to play and listen to. This deathcore/metalcore scene we play in today just isn't for me anymore." The band is currently writing new material for a follow up to 'This is Revenge' and are trying out new vocalists You can listen to Ender here.

Four people were injured by a camera boom last night at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas. According to a Austin-Travis county emergency service worker, all of the four who were injured only suffered minor injuries, although these injuries seemed quite serious at the time as one concert-goer was reported saying ""One man walked out with a large gash across his head, followed by another man escorted by police. It appeared that at least 6-7 people needed medical attention, and at least two people were carried out on stretchers." Florida heavy metal group Iced Earth have announced a new vocalist, recruiting Stu Block, of Into Eternity. The band had the following to say on their website: In the wake of vocalist Matt Barlow's retirement, dozens of demos and resumes flooded Iced Earth's management team. But one name kept popping up – Into Eternity vocalist Stu Block, who has been named the new lead singer for Iced Earth.

Ben Weasel, frontman of iconic band Screeching Weasel, was in an altercation during his band's performance at SXSW in Texas.The following is the L.A Times account of the incident:It's a "a carnival of schadenfreude" Weasel said of SXSW, and repeatedly said he regretted coming. Yet the contentious atmosphere turned more aggressive by show's end, with Weasel ultimately jumping into the crowd, allegedly to confront a woman who had hit him in the face with ice. Another woman, who security staff said was one of the venue's owners, ran on stage to break up the fight. Weasel was soon dragged off the stage by security. He left the venue before he could be tracked down by reporters, and has not yet returned a call requesting comment.
