The Vines are set to release their new album Future Primitive this June.
The record's first single 'Gimme Love' has been gaining airplay on triple j recently.
In an interview with triple j's The Doctor, frontman Craig Nicholls and drummer Hamish Rosser suggested that track, which comes in at a time of just 1:51, gives an idea of the approach the band took to the new album.
"There's a few three and a half minute songs but most of them are around two minutes. I just like the early singles in the 60's how they seemed to be very short. It's kind of changed nowadays but we're trying to bring that back I guess." they said.
The album, produced by Bumblebeez' Chris Colonna and mixed in Paris with Julien Delfaud (Phoenix), is due June 3.
