This free event, hosted on the 20th of May, the Bondi Wave Conference is a way for avid fans, musicians or students to gain knowledge of the music industry and tips and tricks to succeed in an often mysyerious field. Speakers at this years event include Steve Pavlovic (CEO of Modular), Dan Zilber (Music Director at FBi 94.5) and Graham Nixon (Managing Director of Resist Records). more information can be found here.

Current Zao members Daniel Weyandt and Scott Mellinger have joined forces with former drummer Stephen Peck to create new musical project, Lonely Ghost Parade, with the band recently unveiling two debut demo tracks.

Domino Records has announced the full release of a 'Franz Ferdinand – Covers EP'. The EP was first released as part of the Record Store Day celebrations on April 16 and is now available on CD or black vinyl.

Miami's experimental rock band I Set My Friends On Fire have announced that their sophomore album, 'Astral Rejection,' will be released on June 17 via Epitaph Records. The band made the following comments on the record:“This time around it felt like we were actually writing a record rather than writing in pieces,” Mehana responds when asked about the recording process. “It was definitely a new kind of experience because we were writing music that was unlike anything we’d heard before, but that’s been our goal in this band all along… to push the envelope and create something new.”

The microphones and other equipment used by John Lennon to record ‘Imagine’ are being auctioned off next month.
