Adelaide heavy band Far West Battlefront have recently posted a video update of their time in the studio.

Ligeia have posted a new song entitled "Vodka Demon", which will appear on the band's forthcoming EP "Welcome To Palm City". The track features guest vocals from Drew York of Stray From The Path. The band's last release was "Bad News" which was released in 2008 via Ferret Music

Attack Attack! vocalist Caleb Shomo took to his Twitter account to announce work on their third album is complete. The album will be called This Means War. A release date is yet to be confirmed.

GWAR frontman Dave Brockie aka Oderus Urungus has released a statement regarding the death of the band's guitarist Cory Smoot. He was found dead on Wednesday as the band preprared to cross the border into Canada. Brockie has offered the following:"After a restless night spent hurtling through the desolate Canadian wilderness, I crawled from my bunk on the tour bus to face reality, grudgingly aware that the the dark dream that gripped us would not fade with the day. We have lost a brother, a husband, a son, and one of the most talented musicians that ever slung an ax. Cory Smoot, longtime lead guitar player for the band GWAR, has passed at the age of 34."As the singer of GWAR and one of his best friends, I feel it is my duty to try and answer some of the questions that surround his tragic and untimely death. Fans of Long Island, New York hardcore band Stray From the Path will be happy to hear the members survived a recent accident. After their van flipped, the band took to their Twitter account to reveal "Everyone is all good. No Idea about equipment or Van. Trailer is destroyed." Check out the post-accident twitpic here.
