Hostage Calm recording new album
Hostage Calm has entered the studio to record their new full-length Please Remain Calm with producer J. Robbins. The album is due out this fall on Run For Cover Records. The band had this to say about recording with the legendary Robbins: "We wanted to bring out the emotion, the longing, the desperation in this record. We wanted to reach for something. J. Robbins recorded some of our favorite compelling and evocative contemporary records. He came out to a show in DC, and we spoke for a bit. We immediately felt a great connection, and were drawn to his ethic and approach. We've been underway with J. for a week now and are so happy with the decision." Shock Records launches hardcore imprint label
Shock Records has announced a new label imprint, Halfcut Records, to release the work of punk and hardcore artists. Shock is Australia's largest independent recod label, responsible for distributing records for international names like Epitaph, Rise and Fat Wreck. Halfcut Records will be headed up by Shock's General Manager of Music Leigh Grupetta, along with Shock staffer and host of Triple J's Short.Fast.Loud program, Stu Harvey.
