Poison City Records is delighted to reveal that burgeoning buzz band The Smith Street Band will release their second album Sunshine And Technology on August 24, 2012. To celebrate its release the band will tour extensively, playing headlining shows in capital cities Australia-wide. The much loved Melbourne band’s debut album, 2011’s No One Gets Lost Anymore, was the sound of a band that had found their feet. Greeted with accolades, Beat Magazine wrote “happily one of the best Aussie albums in recent memory” and Triple J’s Stu Harvey added “The Smith Street band need to be heard”. Website Bombshellzine took it even further, voting it THE best album of the year. The band’s incessant gigging following their debut album’s release hints at The Smith Street Band's desire to reach as many people as possible. Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe has been released from jail, according to a tweet from the band. Blythe was being held in Czech Republic on alleged manslaughter charges. An official statement regarding the case is expected shortly from Lamb of God's management.

Legendary punks Pennywise have been forced to cancel two upcoming European shows following singer Zoli Téglás' collapse on stage during the Full Force Festival. The band has released a statement via their Facebook page:

New York Indie kids Nada Surf are set to return to Australia for the first time in almost a decade this September. The band will be playing along the East Coast, marking the end of a long time spent away from out shores.

 Melbourne's ever-consistant punkabilly act The Living End have told fans via mail list that they should tune into Triple J at 8AM AEST on Monday, July 2 for a "massive announcement" - and they warn fans to "be ready to have your mind blown!".
