Just a few months after the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) announced the launch of their nascent Collab program, the local artists taking place have now been announced.
First detailed back in early December, ARIA Collab is described as a “groundbreaking” initiative which is designed to boost Australian music to the global stage. The program sees Aussie artists teamed up with internationally renowned music producers in exclusive partnerships.
The new project is set to combine “creativity, mentorship, and innovation” and create high-impact, export-ready hits that will push the boundaries of Australian music.
The program will launch at Naarm/Melbourne’s Bakehouse Studios on March 3rd and run until the 7th, with Canadian producer WondaGurl leading a group of five talented Aussie names.
The Melbourne edition will feature none other than Baker Boy, Becca Hatch, GOLD FANG, PANIA, and ONEFOUR, who will
"I’ve always been drawn to artists who bring something fresh and unexpected to music, and Australia has such an incredible pool of talent,” WandaGurl said of the Melbourne group. “Going through the selection process was tough because there was so much creativity to choose from, but I’m excited to finally connect with these artists in-person and bring our ideas to life. I know we’re about to create something really special together!"

Later that month, the program will head north to Warrane/Sydney, and from March 31st until April 4th with Tommy Brown taking over Forbes Street Studios.
The Sydney edition also brings together a number of rising and established names, with ASHWARYA, CHAII, Charley, Tentendo, and Yorke joining the ranks.
“I’ve been all around the world, but Australia is one of my favourite places I’ve been to,” Brown said of Collab. “I’m beyond excited to be back and to meet all the amazing talent. It wasn’t easy narrowing it down to five artists, but I’m honoured that I was given the opportunity to listen to some exceptional talent.”
As Brown indicated, the successful artists were chosen by a panel of experts which included the collaborators, along with Heidi Braithwaite (AAM), Jessica Ducrou (Sound NSW), Hayden Bell (Bell Partners), Bad Apples, Nazlican Eren (Music Australia), and ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd.
“ARIA Collab is about creating moments that shift careers,” Herd said in a statement. “These artists aren’t just heading into the studio, they’re stepping into a global conversation. Working with producers like Tommy Brown and WondaGurl gives them a rare opportunity to craft music that will resonate far beyond Australia’s borders.
“The calibre of entrants was incredibly high for these rounds, throughout the judging process I have heard consistent feedback from the panel and collaborators that we are creating world-class – and world-ready – music in Australia. Congratulations to everyone involved!”
ARIA’s Collab program has been made possible with the support of Music Australia, and it’s expected that the finished tracks – or finished collaborations, if you will – will be released in the months following the completion of the program.
