What?

South West Sydney’s Want of Peace headline with their expansive, alternative rock sound world. Formed in 2011 as an outlet for pure noise, the project has evolved into an immersive, chapter-by-chapter sonic diary from creator Grant Rutups. From the psychedelic inner trip of jam (2015), to the interstellar mission of spaceman (2018), the desolate crash landing of Earthling+ (2019) and the dizzying present-day reality of Haha yeah (2024), each release builds a universe of its own. Rooted in deep musical values, unique arrangements and heart-on-your-sleeve honesty, Want of Peace carve out alternative rock with subtle R&B textures and a cinematic sense of world-building that hits both intimate and expansive.

Main support comes from Danny Pratt, the self-defined architect of Earthling Blues — “songs about reconnection with each other and where we’re from.” With over 10 million streams and collaborations alongside Grammy-nominated artists, Danny blends the introspective electricity of Hendrix, the emotional cry and songwriting depth of Jeff Buckley, and a modern, textural edge reminiscent of Mk.gee. His psychedelic blues ballads sit suspended between earthly hope and neon dystopia — amplifying calm as they roar, intimate yet powerful, nostalgic yet forward-facing.

Opening the night is Sydney-based singer-songwriter and audio engineer Kayla Yu (K-LA), weaving indie grit with pop-rock energy inspired by the anthemic spirit of J-Rock. For K-LA, songwriting is a return to the purest joy of music — where honest words meet raw emotion and every story finds its home in the sound. Expect soaring hooks, punchy dynamics and heartfelt storytelling to set the tone for the evening.
