Kick those Monday blues to the curb at Social Sanctuary – your weekly night of free live music at NSC. We've lined up a stellar roster of your fave local artists and some exciting new talents breezing through town!
This week Sarah Mary Chadwick, Gena Rose Bruce and Milly Strange are stopping by for a show.
Off the back of her latest record, ‘Take Me Out To A Bar / What Am I, Gatsby?’ Kill Rock Stars 2025, Sarah Mary Chadwick is joined by Nathan Pilch (WPH, Crypt, Cocks Arquette) for their debut duo performance, as part of this stunning Social Sanctuary line up. Chadwick continues her ‘never miss, if she aims’ streak with this wonderful record and is excited to share it with you all.
Gena Rose Bruce is an artist who places love at the core of her musical expression. Her ability to explore the various dimensions of love, from its complexities to its vulnerabilities, is what sets her apart. With her debut album, "Can't Make You Love Me," released in 2019, Gena ventured into the indie rock realm, crafting a unique sound that transcends conventional labels.
In a musical landscape filled with talent, Gena Rose Bruce's artistry shines brightly, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and souls of those who listen to her enchanting melodies and poetic storytelling. As she continues to evolve and inspire, Gena Rose Bruce's journey in the world of music is one filled with promise and possibility.
Milly Strange delivers a stirring fusion of folk storytelling with the grit of alt-rock and grunge, crafting a sound that is both intimate and raw. Milly’s music thrives on contrasts - light and dark, past and present, beauty and unease. Milly Strange’s previous releases have received praise from Radio Carrum “In Fire” sounds like it belongs in a film with cowboys and burning churches… it won’t fail to make you stop whatever you are doing and hold your full attention.” Having captivated audiences in Melbourne’s underground, performing alongside The Slingers, Peter Bibby, Caitlin Harnett & the Pony Boys, and Queenie, the five-piece outfit is poised to cast the same spell on international stages.
Social Sanctuary is proud to be sponsored by Mountain Goat.
Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on. We also pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities that may join us for our show.
