*MONIQUE is an Australian jazz pianist, singer and composer, who performs in a range of genres encompassing jazz, blues, roots, country, blues, classical and other contemporary styles. She studied Law at the University of Melbourne before taking up jazz piano and composition at Victorian College of the Arts.
Awarded the Fulbright scholarship in 2000 took her to New York City, with her masters studies on Miles Davis' pianist. She waited tables at the Village Vanguard and got to hear artists she idolised for years, then moved away from experimental contemporary jazz, and towards the more singer/songwriter aspect of the genre. She performed regularly at 55 Bar, The Living Room, Rockwood Music Hall and Joe's Pub, toured through Europe and Asia and after nine years abroad, returned to Australia. She has been writer and musical director for several live shows and solo artists, performs regularly, and teaches Jazz piano and composition at tertiary level. She has released at seven albums.
*JIM is a stellar saxophonist who has been part of the Jazz scene for decades, working continuously with band-leader John in various ensembles. He is in much demand for his quality improvisations and talent, in Australia and overseas.
