A major New Zealand festival is heading to our shores this October, and it’s secured an impressive line-up of homegrown and internationally acclaimed artists.

AFROSOUL, after bringing the vibes to New Zealand, is expanding with a second event at the Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane on Sunday, 11 October. The music line-up is co-headlined by Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer Fireboy DML and Grammy-winning producer and artist Timbaland.

They’re joined by Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer Omah Lay, British rap icon Stefflon Don, dance collective Jabbawockeez, Jamaican reggae star Kranium, British-Ghanaian record producer and DJ Juls, UK garage and grime artist Donae’o, and, in an exclusive for the Australian event, New Zealand rapper JessB.

Representing Australia are multi-award-winning Australian Afropop artist Adrien Dzvuke, Jerry C, Sydney-based DJ, music producer, and acoustic engineer ADECHOON, and local R&B DJ K-Time.

Pre-sale tickets will be available on Wednesday, 22 July, at 5 pm AEST, followed by the general sale on Thursday, 23 July, at 5 pm AEST. Head to the AFROSOUL website for more information.

The festival was created by Nigerian-New Zealand UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya and entertainment entrepreneur Mitch Lowe, with the idea of presenting world-class African and Afro-beats celebration to the Australian diaspora.

AFROSOUL made its debut in New Zealand last year with global headliner Burna Boy. The event features a multi-stage setup, a vibrant selection of food, a dance competition, and more.

“We started off local, now we’re going global,” said co-founder Israel Adesanya of the festival’s Australian debut.

He added, “Feeding souls through music, dance, food and much more. There’s nothing quite like the energy felt at AFROSOUL - the sights, sounds, tastes and movement come together to share a true slice of Africa, all on the other side of the world. Australia, welcome to the culture!”
