If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s the Australian Open rounding up some of the best local and international acts for their Live Stage, and the 2018 bill is no exception.
We’re currently in the thick of the massive 15-day event, and with plenty of food and beverages on offer – as well as an epic vibe driven by the matches – it’s not an experience you want to miss, especially give the fact there’s a long weekend in view.
Here’s why you should spend your long weekend at the AO Live Stage and its surroundings.
Peking Duk, Jan 25
Australia's favourite dance duo Peking Duk were one of the most talked about acts at Falls recently, so you can only imagine the party they’ll bring on the eve of a public holiday. They’ll be supported by Rojdar, who mixes commercial house with classic club anthems. Expect the party of a lifetime.
Bliss N Eso, Jan 26
Local legends Bliss N Eso delivered more cutting-edge Australian hip hop last year with the release of Off The Grid, and their headline tour in support proved they’re one of the country’s best.

“The camaraderie at tonight's gig can only be described as infectious,” The Music said of the trio’s Off The Grid Brisbane date last year. “The ear-to-ear smiles of the audience can be seen everywhere you turn. Attendees dance without inhibitions and chant each rap verse and refrain with their mates in a high-spirited singalong.” Joining them on Australia Day will be Dylan Joel, who more than knows how to warm up a Bliss N Eso crowd after touring with them last year.
Tina Arena, Jan 27
Australian icon Tina Arena will headline the final women’s final day with her band, and given it's a hometown gig on such a big stage, we can expect a soaring set. “I love summer in Melbourne and there’s such a vibe during the Australian Open,” Arena said. She’ll be supported by fast-rising star Ali Barter.
TLC, Jan 28
TLC always bring the party, as noted by The Music during their last visit Down Under: “Crowd pleasers like Creep, Diggin' On You and Silly Ho kept the night moving and the revellers bopping along, but it was the timeless hits Waterfalls and No Scrubs that brought the house down.” What a way to finish off the massive AO Live Stage bill. Support by DJ Horizon.
“Our focus and commitment to tennis fans coming to the tournament is to make the whole experience a real day out, something they will always remember,” Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley said.
“The AO Live Stage, and all the brilliant acts performing this year thanks to the careful programming by Mushroom Events, is an important part of this.
“After the success of this year’s series of concerts, we have expanded the line-up, it just gets bigger and better every year.”
Ground passes are still available via Ticketek and you can find more info via the AO Live Stage website.
