“They had their 18 month run, complete with the one album and 20-odd shows, and I think they’re drained to be honest.”

An exciting young Australian band have announced their split after just one album, sending shockwaves through their substantial fan base. The band, favourites on the festival circuit during the recent season, broke the news during a live-stream of a guitar-tuning tutorial that they were conducting for fans.

Effective immediately, the band gave no reason for the split but said they were desperate for some serious “re-tooling”.

Interestingly, the band had signed a three-album deal with their label, but there were rumoured to be delays over the recording of their second album. An insider from the label told SPA Confidential that they were “frustrated” with the band, who wanted to add polka-influences into their dubstep-indie.

“It was better for everyone they they've broken up,” the insider said. “They had their 18 month run, complete with the one album and 20-odd shows, and I think they're drained to be honest.”

He added, “And now that the band are out of the way we can really start to market the ten tracks from their album properly.”

Merely hours after the split the label have announced a 're-issue series' for the band, that will see their debut album – which just missed out on the ARIA Chart top 50 – re-released once a year for the next five years. Each of the releases will feature the artwork tinted a different colour, starting with teal for next year's re-release and ending with cyan in 2018.

Internet forums are now abuzz with talk of a possible reformation tour in 2019, where the band will play their 'seminal' album in its entirety twice.
