Demand to see Australian-born, US-based singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer RY X come home next year has been extraordinary.
Today, tour promoters Frontier Touring have announced that RY X will perform a second and final show at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall to meet the demand for tickets, expanding his recently announced Australian tour.
He’ll take over Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Wednesday, 14 July, and the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on Monday, 19 July and the new show on Tuesday, 20 July.
His first Sydney show has already sold out, and the Melbourne date is selling fast.
Tickets to the new show will be available from 11 am AEST today during a Frontier Members pre-sale, followed by the general sale on Thursday, 17 September. More ticketing information can be found on the Frontier Touring website.
These aren’t your ordinary headline shows. For his triumphant homecoming to Australia, RY X (aka Ry Cuming) will be accompanied by an orchestra in Melbourne and Sydney.
Having previously teamed up with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and London Philharmonic Orchestra, and scored for the Gothenburg Opera and Nederlands Dans Theatre, RY X has the experience, talent, and knowledge to put on a show with an orchestra.
Last week, RY X unveiled the song Holy Water – the first single from his lush, orchestral new album, DUSK, which is scheduled for release in early 2027. The album marks his first full-length since 2022’s Blood Moon.
“Holy Water became a prayer honouring the beauty of the water contained in the human body, and the story of where that water connects with the world outside,” he said of the new track. “A conversation on love, and the gravity between two hearts (this being the place where spirit loves to enter and speak), an immense and delicate moment all at once, like two oceans meeting.
“I felt a return to essence writing this song, and this album. Stripping songs to their core, creating from a heartfelt and vulnerable place in a time where there is so much in the world that only has fragments of human touch.
“Every sound, every breath, every mistake caught on tape in a room with me, a quiet rebellion of the heart; grateful to share it now as this album starts to unfold.”
