More Pink More Pink

1. Get The Party Started

While P!nk had found commercial success in the US with her debut album, Can't Take Me Home, it was her second album, Missundaztood, that catapulted her career into superstardom and made her an international sensation. Particularly hit single, Get The Party Started, which reached the top 10 in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Yes, the catchy 2000s banger can still be heard blaring out of JBL speakers at every house party around Australia, and it has stayed as an Aussie party anthem for over 20 years after its release. Artists can rarely say that their songs have stood the test of time, but P!nk is no ordinary artist. The quintessentially 2000s music video also doesn't hurt.

2. I'm Not Dead; The Come Back of the Century.

Whether it's U+UR Hand, Stupid Girls or Who Knew, I'm Not Dead is arguably P!nk's best album that delves into issues of feminism, politics, friendship and heartache. After releasing her third album, Try This, P!nk parted ways with her record label and started to explore her sound, landing at a pop/rock feel that eventually turned into I'm Not Dead. Supposedly writing over 40 songs for the album, P!nk poured her heart and soul and had some pivotal personal moments that, in turn, made the album so loved. Max Martin (Taylor Swift, Backstreet Boys, Bon Jovi) also produced the album, working his magic and supporting P!nk to create a body of work that tested the boundaries of what female artists were considered to make at the time. While many songs from the 2000s are played out, I'm Not Dead will (as the title suggests) never die, as it's cemented itself as one of the best albums of that era.

3. Dear Mr President

Another song from the iconic 2006 album I'm Not Dead, but this one packs a punch that goes beyond being a good song. Teaming up with the beloved feminist group Indigo Girls, P!nk penned a song that tackled her strong feelings towards the Bush administration at the time. P!nk famously wrote the song as a sort of open letter to President Bush, asking him a series of rhetorical questions that related to his stance on the Vietnam war, homosexuality, homelessness and drug abuse. The incredible lyrics "What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away?/And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay?" are still relevant today and give the song a level of staying power that's so rare. Her live performance in London's Wembley Arena showcases the raw beauty of the song as well as the vocal talent that P!nk possesses.

4. 2009 Acrobatic VMAs Performance

While P!nks biggest fans would have already witnessed her signature acrobatic's on her Funhouse tour, the rest of the world was given a taste of her incredible skills for the first time at the 2009 VMAs where she sang her hit single Sober while performing arial stunts. It was one of the first performances of its kind for an artist to both sing and perform acrobatics on Live TV, and her act elevated the level of effort and intensity expected from live performers at the VMA's forever.

5. So What "I'm Still A Rockstar!"

Featured on the incredibly popular album Funhouse, So What is the perfect angsty breakup song for someone who doesn't want to cry in bed all weekend, but would rather get up and take on the world. It's P!nk at her best, with snappy lyrics and a catchy beat, it's become an anthem for anyone who has been burned but wants to get back up and fight. The music video for the single is also one of P!nk's best, as it showcases her going through all the emotions of a heartbreak with some added comic relief. Her husband Carey Hart also features in the video, making the clip even more real and down to earth.

6. Winning Billboard's Woman of the Year Award 2013

P!nk is known for her strong opinions around feminism and empowering women to stay true to themselves, so it's no surprise that her speech after winning Billboard's Woman of the Year Award in 2013 was so inspiring. In the speech she said, "Here’s what I wish. I wish that girls embraced their power and their worth and their value in their youth, and not sell it or barter it for anything and have to buy it back later in life. I wish for my daughter to grow up in a world where wonderful publications like Billboard celebrate them for their originality, their individuality their willingness to be true to themselves, and the courage to be scary and emotional to get shit done. I wish for women to stop apologising for those very things that make us women." Could we love her anymore?

7. Greatest Hits.. So Far!!

Not many artists have the back catalogue to release a greatest hits album at all, let alone one that's released half way through their career. P!nk's Greatest Hits...So Far!!! showcases the long and prosperous career she's had making hit after hit in the 2000s. Featuring songs from all four of her studio albums before 2010, Greatest Hits...So Far is a monumental feat to be able to fill an album with hit's only part way through her career. On top of this, P!nk has gone on to release four incredibly successful albums after its release, defying the stigma associated with greatest hits records.

8. Never Gonna Not Dance Again

P!nk's new single, Never Gonna Not Dance Again, is a celebration of dancing through life and no longer caring about what people think. The song is super upbeat, catchy and really shows off the music journey that she has been on throughout her 20 year career. On the new single P!nk has commented, saying: "I don’t want to worry anymore. You can take everything I have, but you can’t take my joy."

The single is the first song off her upcoming album Trustfall, which will be released on the 17 February 2023 via RCA Records and Sony Music Australia. Commenting that it's her favourite album yet, we can't wait to listen.
