A new show and a venue upgrade have been confirmed due to extraordinary demand for tickets to The Living End's upcoming tour.

As this year's ARIA Hall Of Fame hosts a standalone event to induct multiple iconic artists, the class of 2026 talks to The Music about what this honour means to them.

“Our gig philosophy is pretty simple: blow the fricken doors off! See you at the show,” Chris Cheney said.

Gurrumul, Jenny Morris, Kate Ceberano, Spiderbait, The Living End and Vika & Linda will be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame during a special ceremony next month.

This year, Bluesfest isn’t “one big festival,” but the local community has rallied for a takeover, featuring The Wailers, The Living End, and more.

“Like all of you who had planned on going to Bluesfest, we were bummed out when it got cancelled. So, we thought, stuff it, we wanna play a gig anyway, so we are!”

When it comes to the rare experience of artists playing the same song multiple times on the same night, we need to ask: can too much of a good thing become a bad thing?

Ball Park Music, Pete Murray, Mallrat, and many others will perform at the inaugural event.

Cheney shared a story about when The Living End lost a Battle of the Bands competition to a group that played Metallica’s Enter Sandman and expressed awe at his "funny old life."

"If this kid is anything to go by, the future of Aussie rock is in safe hands," said Chris Cheney.

Jimmy Barnes, Loyle Carner, The Living End, Chet Faker, Mallrat, and more will perform at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt this December.

"People often say to me, ‘Why don't you just write another Prisoner Of Society?' And it's like, ‘Well, because I can't.’ I don't really know how I wrote that."
