Monster Children Photo Comp 2014
The fourth annual photo comp has commenced.. True story: One year I entered the Monster Children Photo Competition with an arty-as-shit black-and-white nude photo of my girlfriend. I was pretty chuffed with it, and apparently they were chuffed with it enough that it got through to the second round, I think. I even got invited to go over east to the competition awards night. Long story short I couldn't afford to go over, didn't win anything, a whole bunch of people I don't know have now seen my girlfriend's boobs, and I haven't touched a camera since. Okay that last bit's kinda true. I stopped taking photos because I got bored of it and realised I have zero eye for what makes a good photo, not because I didn't win this Monster Children Photo Competiton. But you could win the Monster Children Photo Competition in 2014 if you're good enough. It's pretty simple, just head to the MC website HERE and submit your entries in one of the following categories: • Travel sponsored by Corona Extra •

Foreign/National - Life Tourist
The Melbourne five-piece are on the verge of dropping their debut EP, and Life Tourist is a great start.. Foreign/National are five guys outta Melbourne who, according to that ever-reliable source of information Facebook, like beer and Mortal Kombat. We like both of those things too, so it was pretty much destiny that we'd like their breezy brand of psych-pop, which is all out for display on new single Life Tourist. Because I'm a child of my generation, I'm gonna bandy about comparisons like early-days MGMT and Tame Impala, but that's just to give you, fair-weather blog explorer, some recognisable names to clutch on to. It's dreamy stuff, and I look forward to their upcoming debut EP release, due September via Downtime. Follow Foreign/National: FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD

Feki - Nothing Lasts Forever
Some more producer gold out of Brisbane.. While Brisbane has been a hotbed of rock'n'roll talent for the past few years (decades), the city is quickly proving no slouch when it comes to the production side of things. People like Young Franco and more recently cln have been killing it for a while now, and today we can add 19-year-old Feki to the mix. His latest original, Nothing Lasts Forever, follows a string of remixes from the likes of GRMM, Kilter and The Preatures, and is a future-beat/chilltrap as they come, but with enough uniqueness to make it worth talking about it. Mastered by another Brissy lad Omniment (whose God Wolf remix we premiered LAST WEEK), it packs some serious soul, sweeping synth-lines, pitched vocals and a cracking snare. Enjoy: Follow Feki: FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD
