Rainy Day Women - Mrs Jones *Premiere*
More goodness out of WA, this time from indie-pop dudes Rainy Day Women.. Following a video premiere last week for hard-rocking WA outfit The Love Junkies (check Television HERE), we're very #PerthProud today to unveil some more goodness out of our fair corner of the world in Rainy Day Women's latest single, Mrs Jones. And while we're not quite into the summer months yet, the Rainy Day lads have provided another summery sing-along slice of indie-pop. The four-piece have long flown the flag for WA's long and healthy tradition in pop-rock outfits (think The Sleepy Jackson, The Panics, Split Seconds), and Mrs Jones sets 'em up nicely for the sunny months that feel so close, yet so far away. They're supporting Meg Mac around on her upcoming Australian tour, and you can check the dates after drifting away with Mrs Jones for a few minutes below: UPCOMING SHOWS: FRI 12 SEP | NEWTOWN SOCIAL CLUB, SYDNEY NSW (SOLD OUT)  SAT 13 SEP | NORTHCOTE SOCIAL CLUB, MELBOURNE VIC (SOLD OUT)  SAT 20 SEP |

Mrs Mac's Presents - A Creative Journey: Part 4
WA producer DYP gets on board the creative journey.. As far as a bio goes, Iain Campbell has been playing out as DYP since 2009. His first gigs were a part of the very first ICSSC parties, and we all know how legendary they were and continue to be. DYP dropped his first release in 2011 L2S Recordings, he’s also since put out music on BassMachine Records and Slime Recordings all while continuing to play live and host various radio shows. Never one to turn down a party, DYP has played shows not only in Australia but also in the UK, Denmark and Jamaica, and featured alongside many acts from around the world, most notably Ben UFO, Oneman, Deadboy, L-Vis 1990, and Bok Bok. DYP was last seen blowing up in the Boiler Room and at Circo Festival. DYP jumped on board Mrs Mac’s creative journey as we needed some music to go along with our adventures. Iain had the crazy task of making a new a track in two days while away on the trip, and somehow making it flow with what Kye and Andrew were doing.

Loston - Drown
Perth lad Loston rolls another new original out - and it's aces.. It's been a pleasure following WA-based producer Loston's growth from his original edits to now focusing on his own originals. His James Blake and Sampha touch-ups got your curiousity (and a lot of others' judging by how well they killed Hypemachine and the like), but as we mentioned with the release of his most recent tune Next Exit - his originals now have your attention. And so it goes with latest effort, Drown. Premiering on Stoney Roads this WEEK, Drown has us still guessing about Loston's "sound" so to speak, but that can only be a good thing. Celebrating the one year anniversary of the bird of "Loston", this is as chill as they come, and with tracks in the works featuring the likes of Thief and Nicole Millar, we continually look forward to what comes next: Follow Loston: FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD Read an interview with Loston HERE, listen to Next Exit HERE and his Sampha re-work HERE.

Split Seconds - Delivery
Split Seconds announce a new EP called Neil Dumb & Young with a new single.. Melbourne-via-Perth Split Seconds are back with a new single, announcing the release of their upcoming debut EP Neil Dumb & Young with the track, Delivery. The single has a few little tricky production techniques we haven't yet heard from the four-piece, and there's plenty to like about it. A rumbling slice of indie-pop, the heavy drums and delicate guitar work, along with Sean Pollard's ear-pleasing vocal work are as usual a joy to behold, and bodes well for the upcoming EP release, with that genius title - of which Pollard says: "It came from a dream in which Neil Young was trying to sell me one of his Pono things, and all I wanted to do was get him to sign my vinyl copy of On The Beach. I thought it summed up the weird musical world we all live in at the moment. Plus it's a good pun." Follow Split Seconds: FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD Five fave songs with Split Seconds HERE.

Lookbook: DIM. E CRES. Autumn 2014
Look forward to the future with this Fall ensemble. I came across DIM. E CRES. when I visited Korea last year and the style was immediately relatable. And as you'll see from the Fall editorial of their latest Autumn collection, they're meant for the kids who hid out in the alley by the dumpster, trying to find some semblance of normalcy when, unbeknownst to them, their futures were reaching out a shining hand. DIM. E CRES. is actually the second line of CRES. E DIM. - 'CRES' meaning 'getting gradually louder' and 'DIM' meaning 'getting gradually softer' from the musical term 'Crescendo E Diminuendo.' Hong Bum Kim uses that undulating concept in shaping his fashion identity, experimenting with different fabrics, shapes and colours. The result being a "modern style projecting contemporary value" with DIM. E CRES. being the twin that chews gum.   CRES. E DIM. (and DIM. E CRES.) WEBSITE

It's finally out - and free to download, with a video clip to boot.. We've talked ad nauseum about this project coming to fruition - so we'll keep it short today. You can stream/download it for free below, and under that check out the video clip, along with all the relevant links to how this project came together. We couldn't be more proud of yung Sable with how everything turned out, and we think you're gonna dig the tune: Sable: “It was pretty crazy being the only WA artist on the Splendour line-up, but now, from having never worked with a vocalist previously to working with one of music’s biggest legends, Kele, I’m taking what I’ve done before to a whole new level.” Kele: “Sable is the first Australian producer I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Given some of the most exciting electronic music is coming from Australia right now, t

Video Interview: Indian Summer
Indian Summer talk Shiner, cooking and shaving people's heads.. To say Indian Summer have had a pretty great year would be selling them short. They've been steadily pumping out some rad singles/EPs via the kings over at Sweat It Out, most recently culminating in the release of their Shiner EP. That EP's title track, featuring Ginger & The Ghost, has been smashing it lately with a killer video clip (watch it HERE) and some big shows to support it. One of those was their appearance at this year's Splendour In The Grass, and seen as Chevy and Gabe are two of our favourite humans in the country/world, we jumped at the chance to sit down with them while there for a little chinwag and a spot of duck-fishing. Check our interview with them below, and their remaining tour dates below that: REMAINING TOUR DATES: Wed Aug 27 - Akuna Club @ Llama Bar, Perth Fri Aug 29 - Mondo Fridays @ Ginger, Perth Sat Aug 30 - Ship Faced Cruise, Sydney Sat Aug 30 - Carmens, Miranda Sat Sept 6 - Anyway @ The Bott

Aphex Twin - SYRO
Aphex Twin somewhat surprisingly announces a new album release in SYRO.. It’s been a exciting week for diehard Richard D. James AKA Aphex Twin fans, with a surprise announcement of his 2014 return in the form of a giant blimp flown over London. For those who recognise the name but know little about Aphex Twin, have a little read HERE to familiarise yourself with this hugely influential and mysterious musician. Earlier this year, an extremely rare test-pressing vinyl of Aphex Twin’s unreleased 1994 album Caustic Window surfaced on eBay and Discogs. Rephlex Records ran a kickstarter campaign aiming to raise $9,300, and the idea was for fans to pitch in money to gain access to a digital version of this unreleased album. By the end of the campaign, over $67,000 was pledged to release the album, and 4115 happy fans were sent this album for $16 each. And to make it even better, the physical copy of the vinyl was sold to the creator of video game Minecraft, for $46,300: This week Aphex Twin

NLV Presents: International Edition
Foreigner bangers with Nina, Eclair Fifi, Sam Tiba, UNiiQU3 and Swick.. Following on from a sell-out run of club gigs earlier in the year featuring some of Australia's brightest up-and-coming producer/DJs, Nina Las Vegas has announced the next NLV Presents tour, featuring a cast of international DJs - some of the most diverse/fresh talents from around the globe: "I wanted the chance to bring you some artists that you may already know and respect, as well as some artists that you should know and will get to see first in Australia on this tour.” We had the opportunity to interview Nina earlier this year when she played at CIRCO Festival, and following her recent holiday/research trip overseas, she was PRETTY EXCITED about using the NLV brand to push new and exciting sounds from overseas into the usually very tight Australian market. And true to her word, NLV Presents: International Edition is a fresh/exciting set of acts featuring some artists you mightn't know, but we guarantee will get
