"The crowd were in fits of laughter over his dirty sexual jokes and impressions."
New Zealander Cal Wilson was the MC for the night, keeping the crowd laughing between comedians with her jokes about motherhood and marriage. Xavier Michelides started off the night with his absurd but hilarious impersonations of people — even his slow-motion parts were hysterical. Parents in the crowd got a cracker of a laugh with Nath Valvo who took the audience back to his teenager years, reliving all the dark and funny thoughts a teenage boy has growing up — no boy likes his mother cleaning his room.
After a quick intermission to refill drinks, Hannah Gadsby kicked off the second part of the night, a slow start as the crowd was less receptive to her jokes, with minimal laughter, and an almost awkward silence at times. Thankfully once the crowd warmed up to her jokes, she won them over with her swiftly witty Taylor Swift lyrical mockery. They saved the best comedian until last, with American Wil Sylvince cracking jokes about himself, "Yes take it in, I'm black," he giggled to himself. As soon as he hit the stage, his presence was infectious and irresistible; the crowd were in fits of laughter over his dirty sexual jokes and impressions.
