James Hinton aka THE RANGE has shared the latest track ‘Copper Wire’ from upcoming new album Potential, which dropped yesterday!

'Copper Wire' is interesting to listen to as it goes in a complete different direction than what you'd expect it to go when you first put on the track. The track as a lot of small snippets of vocals which only play in small amounts without taking too much of the spotlight, most noticeable of this is the raps done by young London rapper called Kruddy Zak, the production stays fairly downtempo until the midpoint where it contains more synths and power, but it's not what you'd expect.

There's a lack of a big drop and I think that gives the song an odd appeal, it subverts your expectations, but it gives you a sound that you didn't know you wanted. The Range brings the track together so well especially with the vocals that are on this track to make something great.

The Range says this of ‘Copper Wire’ :“I think a lot of my favorite lyrics on Potential allude to coming to terms with a difficult time in your life - that moment of acceptance when you finally allow yourself to drop your guard and admit you’ve been hit with something hard. Zak's verse has a piece in it that states '09 was emotional / it's a memory / I wish that everything was still the same' and that hit me particularly deeply as that was the year I lost my mom. Writing this song was the first time I ever talked about that moment in my music, and I think it was an important step in dealing with how I was feeling to finally get some words about it down on paper.”
