Old mates FLUMEY and EMOH INSTEAD are back under the guise of their collaborative dream-team ensemble WHAT SO NOT with yet another heavy-hitting slab of bass, aptly titled 'Jaguar'.
'Jaguar' is about as big-room bass as it gets. Soaring synths, huge smashing brass-synth drops, dense layers of percussive rhythms and un-credited female vocals. But, this tune isn't without the unique WHAT SO NOT vibe, especially within the meaty drops of the song.
Broken up into two definable pieces, an EMOH-inspired brass sound dominates the beat, weaving in and out of the bass-heavy kick drums, and directly after, a smoother vocal sample is introduced amongst bright synth arpeggios - a sound that screams FLUME-was-here.
As a super-duo collaborative effort by WHAT SO NOT, it seems rather poetically sweet that 'Jaguar' is being released as a joint effort between Aussie label SWEAT IT OUT! and legendary US label (most notably founded by SKRILLEX) OWSLA, a match made in bass-banger heaven.
