BARO and REMI have come out with 'Fuck the Judge' a protest jam released in response of the killings of Alton Sterling in Louisiana & Philando Castile in Minnesota at the hands of police officers.

The track itself goes through different stages, starting off with thrash guitar and distorted singing moving into hard rap and then finishing on smooth R&B singing. Each of the separate sections are done well and the transitions between them are smooth and feel in place. Overall the production on this track is great and pushes the emotion that Baro and Remi are feeling.

Now to address the issue at hand, these were two black men killed within 48 hours of each other by the police. With evidence suggesting they did not do anything to deserve death - especially at the hands of the police who are there to uphold the law.

The US has a dark track record when it comes to the mistreatment of minorities, and these instances of mistreatment (and in this many cases killings by authorities) should never go silent. Baro and Remi both want to have their voices and message heard, and 'Fuck the Judge' does just that. Even as Australians their message is clear.

The needless death of people over a detail like their skin colour and the lack of consequences over their murders is an ongoing atrocity of human rights. Baro and Remi  have made clear what their stance is with this track, as they talk about different emotions they feel about the killing of minorities by authorities.

“Rest in paradise all people of colour who have had their lives cut short in the hands of authorities” - Baro
