Album Review: Gnarwolves - Gnarwolves

"There’s plenty of angst and you can taste the fury on your tongue."

Hailing from Brighton, England, punk crew Gnarwolves, aside from having a wicked band name, do punk rock pretty damn well. It’s interesting to hear how a band so clearly raised on a diet of ‘90s punk and ‘00s hardcore sounds in 2015. There are moments of clarity (Boneyard, Bottle To Bottle), although the effectiveness of their delivery is dulled by lead singer Thom Weeks’ vocals and muddled production. There’s plenty of angst and you can taste the fury on your tongue, so if you get the chance to see them live when they tour here, take it.
