‘Take 5 With Zan Rowe’ To Hit Record Stores As Double J Details Month-Long Celebration Of Physical Music

Double J is ditching the algorithm and celebrating vinyl records, CDs, mixtapes, memorabilia, and more.

October will be an exciting time for Double J listeners, with the radio station announcing a month-long celebration of physical music.

Dubbed The Collector’s Edition, Double J is ditching the algorithm and celebrating music formats and other physical items like vinyl records, CDs, mixtapes, memorabilia, and more.

Every Friday from 9 October, the station will host Physical Friday, when presenters play music solely from physical formats from 9 am to 5 pm. Additionally, the Double J team will explore what makes physical media culture special, from collecting vinyl to making zines to mixtape curation.

Along with on-air celebrations, Double J is giving listeners the opportunity to attend exclusive events, including when Take 5 with Zan Rowe hits the road.

Next month, the titular series takes over independent record stores for live recordings with beloved Australian artists.

The Double J podcast-turned-TV series will find Rowe joined by The Presets in Sydney, Dan Sultan in Wollongong, Kate Miller-Heidke in Brunswick, and John Butler in Collingwood.
