Album Review: DEN - DEN

"It's post-punk turned up to 11, thrashed out at 75 RPM."

More DEN More DEN

The first EP from Sydney's DEN starts with screeching synths and urgent cries - and it only gets louder from there.

The ashen Life In Chains and Poltergiest scream from pulsing motorik rhythms, creating a sense of turbulence. The feeling intensifies on Inertia and again on Current Riser, before reaching its apex on closer In The Stare. It's post-punk turned up to 11, thrashed out at 75 RPM.

If you like your music fast, loud and experimental (or if you're just after a counterpoint to the breezy indie usually soundtracking summer) this might be for you.
