"We would never do that, that’s not our style. We’ll do the band until the wheels fall off."
Violent Soho's James Tidswell has cleared up any speculation that the band will be going on indefinite hiatus following their upcoming sets at Groovin The Moo, insisting that the band is going nowhere.
Tidswell told South Western Times last month that their festival spots "will be our last time playing indefinitely", however in a Facebook Q&A last night, the guitarist said his comments were "mistranslated".
"I basically said in the interview that it's gonna be really special for us to do these Groovin shows and we jumped at the chance as soon as we could to do them, because we don’t have anything booked after Groovin," Tidswell explained.
"This is the first time we've been in that situation for six years, maybe longer, maybe seven years. So it seems pretty strange.

"The word I did use was, I said, it's the last shows 'indefinitely'. I did say that, but I meant that jokingly… indefinitely as in there's nothing else on the cards in the future, where we've never been before. So we're going out there to, sort of, really enjoy these ones, play some older stuff and just really relaxed and soak it up, because we don't know how long the next stage is gonna, sort of, take.
"But under no circumstance are we going on indefinite hiatus. We all think that’s an incredibly sappy way to break up and lame to go on indefinite hiatus. We would never do that, that's not our style. We'll do the band until the wheels fall off."
Tidswell made up for any distress he caused fans by hinting that Violent Soho's fifth studio album is indeed in the works.
"We're gonna see how we go, it could be [released] quicker than [2019]."
The video has since been removed from the band's Facebook.
